The 'Yolks on You' Egg Run.

 

Caldarium M.C.C.  have been doing their Egg run ‘Yolks on You’ for Nine years now, the very first being April 2000. Caldarium, based in Oxford invite Bikers from all over the U K, we have had visitors from as far a field as Northern Ireland and The Isle Of White, asking them to bring along a donation of an Easter Egg or suitable toys and books or even a monetary donation, to meet up together in a designated spot and ride out to Local Schools and Hospices for Children with Special Needs and personally deliver said Eggs and Books and Toys. The Children seem to get a great thrill from meeting the Bikers, looking and sitting on the Bikes and Trike's and greeting the ‘Giant Pink Rabbit’ and of course receiving all that chocolate.

 

The Places we support at the moment are: Bardwell School in Bicester, Barnardo's in Abingdon and Viking House in Northway (Oxford).

 

At the end of the day we retire back to the Pub and have a party, to say thank you to the participants and to fleece them for their pennies. The raffle is our big thing in the evening, the prizes being donated by generous local business and we would like to mention that 300 of the Easter Eggs have been donated by the CO-OP this year and in previous years. And the money we raise then gets divided up between the Children’s Homes and Hospices.

 

So far Caldarium have donated over £23,574 and delivered over 10,579 Easter Eggs and 4,670 cuddly toys.

 

Caldarium M.C.C. would like to say a big thank you to the CO OP for donating all the Easter eggs plus a thank you to all our other supporter of the egg run and our other events.

DIRECTIONS

From London - M40 take J8 signed Oxford A40; dual carriageway to Headington roundabout (The one that looks like a hamburger..... Word of advice, go round it and not through it!), Last exit (signed Crematorium) for Horton cum Studley, down Bayswater road (humps), Past crematorium, and after 2 miles, straight over at staggered crossroads (see Otmoor Lodge Sign), after another 2 miles you just before you enter Horton cum Studley, The Millennium Hall is on the right hand side.

From Birmingham M40 - take J9 signed A34 (Blenheim Palace). Take A34 south for Oxford. Second turn off for Islip/ Wheatley. Through Islip signed Wheatley after 4 miles turn left for Horton cum Studley (see Otmoor Lodge Sign), after another 2 miles you just before you enter Horton cum Studley, The Millennium Hall is on the right hand side.

From the A34 south from M4 and Southampton A34 past oxford to Islip-Bletchindon-Wheatley turn off north of Oxford (now follow directions from Birmingham, above).
